Fix Kamala Harris migration responsibilities?

[edit]

Currently the article states "... upon his ascension to the presidency, Biden put Kamala Harris in charge of controlling migration at the US–Mexico border." for which a BBC News article is cited.

However, the Kamala Harris article explains with 15 citations that this is not correct: "On March 24, 2021, Biden assigned Harris to work with Mexico and Northern Triangle nations to stem irregular migration to the U.S.-Mexico border and address the "root causes" of migration. Multiple news organizations at the time described Harris as a "border czar", though Harris rejected the title and never actually held it. Republicans and other critics began using the term "border czar" to tie Harris to the Mexico–United States border crisis, including in a July 2024 House resolution, despite her having no authority over the border itself." Eligibility

[edit]

The citation in Eligibility is Congress Passes 12th Amendment whose whole text is "Congress Passes 12th Amendment 1804 Congress approves the 12th Amendment on Dec. 9 and sends it to the states for ratification.", not mentioning anything about eligibility. I rescued the deviated link. Drdpw (talk) 16:50, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Congressman or Representative

[edit]

This can be considered for all US politicial pages. In the "Vacancy" section, myself & another editor had a disagreement over whether "Congressman" should be used, or "Representative". IMHO, the latter should be used, as the former is a misnomer. Rather than edit-war, it's best to get views from others. GoodDay (talk) 18:05, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
