All my life I associated this subject with her full title: "Dr. Joyce Brothers"; as she would be known, addressed, introduced, etc by on television, radio, etc. When I typed in the "common name", it did not bring me to this page. How can the search link this page to those who type in: "Dr. Joyce Brothers"? Thanks. Maineartists (talk) 22:05, 30 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Her professional name appears to have been Dr. Joyce Brothers, just as Edward Ellington's professional name was Duke Ellington, William Basie's professional name was Count Basie, and John Rebennack's professional name for most of his career was Dr. John. Of course Ellington and Basie were not really members of the British aristocracy and Rebennack didn't really have a doctorate, but then Brothers wasn't really a practicing psychologist. I don't think the article should refer to this person as a psychologist, especially not foremost in the lead. She held an advanced degree in psychology, but that's not the same thing. It's rather like calling her a boxer just because she won contests answering questions about boxing and worked as a boxing announcer. TheScotch (talk) 23:52, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I thought that Joyce Brothers' first TV appearance was on You Bet Your Life when she was a graduate student. It would have been about 1952±. I remember watching it, and how she seemed oblivious to Groucho's innuendos. I have been unable to find the episode data, but other people remember it. IMDB was not helpful in this regard. --Bejnar (talk) 08:18, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure why editor 2601:586:4103:bcb0:a93a:a069:4e28:fad5 found it necessary to make all these edits [1]. Most were completely unnecessary, some were borderline disruptive, and judging from the edit history all carried out today [2], it would seem that this may have been experimental or practice, since there are several errors throughout. Looking at their edit history, other main pages have suffered the same fate. Maineartists (talk) 22:18, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
