Delete most or all of colonial slavery section?
[edit]I think this article is too long generally and I think the colonial section should be relocated to the colonial article, leaving at most four paragraphs of summary. (This article is supposed to the United States and that starts 1776 or 1783 or 1789, etc.) Thoughts? jengod (talk) 18:56, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- You are absolutely right, the whole section 1 with 11 (sic) sub-sections is just a duplicate of Slavery in the colonial history of the United States. Four paragraphs seems like a good thing to aim at. Rsk6400 (talk) 19:31, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- I agree, and have stated that the colonial section needs better WP:Summary and WP:SPLIT on this talk page for years. Alanscottwalker (talk) 20:57, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
