The African helmeted turtle (Pelomedusa subrufa) is a species of side-necked terrapin in the family Pelomedusidae. The species naturally occurs in fresh and stagnant water bodies throughout much of sub-Saharan Africa, and in southern Yemen. It is omnivorous, with its diet consisting mainly of aquatic invertebrates, small fish, and vegetation. It is typically a small turtle, with most individuals being less than 20 centimetres (7.9 inches) in straight carapace length. The female lays two to ten eggs on average, normally during late spring and early summer. The eggs are placed in a flask-shaped nest about 4 to 7 inches (10 to 18 centimetres) deep and hatch in 75 to 90 days. This African helmeted turtle was photographed in Phinda Private Game Reserve, South Africa.Photograph credit: Charles J. Sharp

Carbola Chemical
[edit]I noticed you have some posts about the Carbola mine. I'm doing some research on its ownership and liability interests (I know it passed hands, etc.). What information can you give me? Any pictures?
I would appreciate anything you can tell me. Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Silvergirl111 (talk • contribs) 16:51, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hello. I don't know much about the Carbola mine or company. Three years ago someone created an article here that wasn't really an article. It was a request for information about the Carbola Chemical Company. Since an information request doesn't qualify as an article, I moved the request to the Reference desk before deleting the (non)article. If you've seen my name in relation to edits about Carbola Chemical, then most likely you've already seen that page. If not, then check that link. User:Rholton came up with some contact information from 1998 which you may be able to use to track ownership. SWAdair | Talk 00:32, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Man I've missed inter-acting with you here. How you been? I'm sorry for the late greeting, but my wife is hospitalized and that is where I spent my Christmas. Take care, Tony the Marine (talk) 05:45, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Profanity in Can opener
[edit]Shortly, I reverted you because I am more comfortable with f**cking than fucking :-) We all know what it means, thus why spelling out. Regarding WP rules on profanity, they say citations should be followed by the source. There are two refs on that phrase. One use the former another the latter spelling, which makes things somewhat obscure, but. The former ref is much more detailed (not on phrasing, but on food rationing :-) and IMO has more chances for long-term survival with f**cking than fucking. Regards. PS I am not reverting you now awaiting either your reply, or self-revert. Materialscientist (talk) 08:47, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- Sure, editing in parallel, right now I am searching info for a very very interesting (but "hard to get") DYK, thats why minutes of delay. My only f**king concern in those reverts was that my intuition tells me Can openers would survive longer with ** in it ;-) Either spelling is Ok. Happy editing. Invitation to join WikiProject United States
[edit]Edwin L Bonner page, Bonner County
[edit]Hello, I was doing some reading on my local area and noticed you had deleted a page linking to Edwin L. Bonner for Bonner County.
Was wondering, any particular reason why?
Cheers,

Notice of change
[edit]Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that if you are inactive for a continuous three year period, you will be unable to request return of the administrative user right. This includes inactive time prior to your desysopping if you were desysopped for inactivity and inactive time prior to the change in policy. Inactivity is defined as the absence of edits or logged actions. Until such time as you have been inactive for three years, you may request return of the tools at the bureaucrats' noticeboard. After you have been inactive for three years, you may seek return of the tools only through WP:RFA. Thank you. MBisanz talk 00:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers
[edit]Hi SWAdair,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
RC Patrol-related Proposals in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey
[edit]Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!
This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:
- Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
- Editor-focused central editing dashboard
- "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
- Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
- Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list
Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)
Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.
Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
