== Detroit Diesel Series 50 pulling power is great! ==

I drive a FL 106 tandem tractor with a Landoll equipment moving trailer tandem. Yes 18 wheels. Up to 80,000 pound loads (some days more

wink). In this truck there is a little 50 series. 4 cylinder. Yes my first work truck to have a 4 cylinder. I move heavy equipment with in

city limits mostly,Edmonton) for a transmission there is a 6 speed Alison auto. The gearing I am not sure but is low. Lower then 4.30 at 110km

hour. 2000 rpm. But anyways this truck for what I do is great, coming up from the river in the big hill pulling big 60 foot booms like

nothing most of the time, some days she works big, some of them hills are strait up and down. 60 to 70,000 pounds be hind a little 50 series.

Its not no 550 cat but it really blows be away when I think how little it is. For fuel i put in about 280 liters every 3 days so 100 bucks a

day in fuel. now that is running a great fuel program. i ran supper B logging truck for 8 years so i am used to not a big get up and go

140,000 pound loads) but i no when i truck pulls and for a little 8.5 liter engine that is a 4 banger it is great, and run all day for 10 hours

pulling heavy equipment up to 80,000 pounds all day. for 100 bucks in fuel. I give it a big thumbs up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.149.228.131 (talk) 04:59, 4 November 2009 (UTC) [reply]
