[edit]"Knapp's father, Ira, was the first person to serve as chairman of the Christian Science Board of Directors, though he was also forced under oath in court to admit Eddy had never taught this herself."
To what does this refer? That he was to be chairman, or that Eddy was a fulfillment of prophecy from Revelations? --babbage 22:19, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
the "this" refers to that he had not been taught that she was the fufillment of the Prophecy.. SimonATL 04:40, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Article was rewritten to be less biased against Knapp
[edit]In the spirit of Wikipidia as being unbiased, I rewrote the article to reflect historical facts left out previously. That Knapp was a friend of Eddy that she fostered is not open to dispute. Nor can anyone impune his devotion to Eddy. But how far "off" did he go? Was his opinion only his or did others hold the same notions? If you look beneath the pages of this controversy, you'll see that the anti-Knapp view is not the only opinion there is of this devoted individual. A revised biography will be coming out on Knapp, originally published by Dr. Ted Houpt, former professor of Principia College. I'll footnote when its available. I'm neither pro nor con Knapp - just want to get out BOTH sides of the story. SimonATL 10:22, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi, just did a little more cleaning up. The letter from Mrs. Eddy to Bliss is copywrited and needed to be removed. Great article.Simplywater 04:53, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Basis for statement that "Mrs. Eddy's Place Article Withdrawn
[edit]Rogers stated, "a statement by the Churches's Board of Directors in 1943 (later withdrawn)" What is the basis for this statment? Where in any pubs of the CS Publishing Society can this be shown? Thanks SimonATL 13:50, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
