Sect
[edit]I cannot tell from this article whether this bishop is Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Eastern-rite Catholic, or something else. What position he holds in what church should be explicit in the first sentence, since that's why there's an article about him, and early biography should come later. Name
[edit]Which is correct, "Mor Severius" or "Mor Severious"? Both are used in the article. Kaldari 17:26, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
"Severious" looks all wrong to me. --Pjacobi 18:12, 2005 May 26 (UTC)
Vio
[edit]This article is copyvio of http://sor.cua.edu/Personage/PZakka1/index.html. I'm rewriting. Gareth Hughes 11:10, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
His name is from an Assyrian king, so knock it off
[edit]Could the super POV-warrior User:The TriZ quit removing the fact that his name is a derivative of the ancient Assyrian king Sennacherib? — EliasAlucard (Discussion · contribs) 17:24, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Why doesn't everybody knock off the POV games and work on citing the article? -- SECisek (talk) 18:47, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
That wouldn't be a problem, but instead of doing that, our time is getting wasted by babysitting for User:EliasAlucard, adding Assyrian in all articles and deleting Syriac or Aramean/Aramaic. Look for example on Suryoyo Sat which he included in their Assyrian Project, and vandalised the article. He never stops. The TriZ (talk) 13:58, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- Excuse me, but your the one who is removing an important fact that is backed by a reference. Chaldean (talk) 14:25, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
First of all, it is not important at all. It is the opposite. And it wasn't backed with a reference before now. The TriZ (talk) 22:30, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, a "fact" of dubious value. Adds nothing to the article. Can we cite some of the facts from his life please? -- SECisek (talk) 22:53, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Sec, you don't even know the situation. It is not dubious, because this guy advocates that his followers are not related to Assyrians at all, and that his parents and grandparents never considered themselves Assyrians, yet he was named after an Assyrian king. He is a key player in the Names of Syriac Christians dispute. Chaldean (talk) 00:03, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
What does it add to the article? My first name is of Scottish origin and I am about as Scottish as the Last King of Scotland. I would like to see this article advance to GA and citing the origin of a name that the subject has not used in years will not move the article closer to that point. Can we get real? I encourage you all to join me in improving the newly reopened Wikipedia:WikiProject Oriental Orthodoxy -- SECisek (talk) 00:16, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- I did some work on the article to demonstrate that I DO in fact know the situation. I hope you will all help me in pushing this article to GA. It needs more, different sources. -- SECisek (talk) 09:57, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- Great job with the edits SEC. The article is starting to look good already. Good luck with the WikiProject. Chaldean (talk) 23:41, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
