This article is heavily out of date, given existence of Military history of Rome. Both it and the redirect Roman army should be redirected to the latter article. If some of the old article's content is useful, it can be merged wherever apppropriate; however, I'll leave it to others. (I am not an expert on history.) -- Mike Rosoft 12:34, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Comment: You do not need to list an article here if your preferred solution is a merge and redirect. Be bold and do it yourself. A merge and redirect can be easily reversed if it turns out to be controversial. Deletions get special discussion because the page history will be destroyed and so are not easily reversible decisions. Rossami 15:11, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- While both articles could be expanded into separate works, for now I think it is a good idea to combine the two very poor articles creating one mediocre article. - SimonP 16:07, Sep 28, 2004 (UTC)
- I don't believe that copying the content of "Roman Army" into "Military history of Rome" was a good idea. After all, "Military history of Rome" was not an independent article, but rather a list of related topics. (Basically an unmarked category listing.) The content of listed articles is pretty good, and this is where the content belongs - if anywhere. Namely, Roman legion, and possibly Legionary. -- Mike Rosoft 22:15, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- If this is not an appropriate place to discuss such issues, what is? Talk:Roman Army doesn't seem to be, because chance of it being noticed is remote. -- Mike Rosoft 22:15, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Why do you need to list it for deletion to do this? Mark Richards 18:00, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)
