Spicer's "furniture"
[edit]I added the paragraph about Spicer's linguistics background and Martian transmissions off the top of my head. I would like any comments about it. I couldn't think of Hockett's first name since it's been years since I was studying linguistics in grad school.

It was not "sequences" he decided to write, but "serial poems", am I not right?Matt Keenan 13:03, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
Did Spicer come up with the serial poem or did Cid Corman? Corman wrote an essay in 1955 that mentions the serial poem.

New sections needed
[edit]I just added a new section "Legacy," by splitting up the "Life and work" section. I suggest that after these sections are expanded, that we add a section called "Reception" and then split that section into the subheadings "Critical Reception" and "Legacy." I'm following the precedent set by the Ezra Pound article. It follows this pattern, and the Pound article is considered to be a "starred" article (whether you believe (or not) that Spicer is as influential as Pound).Christian Roess (talk) 19:54, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
Infobox
[edit]I am noticing the infobox has code in order to pull the wikidata information, however for whatever reason it isn't pulling most of the information. Does anyone know why? And how do we to fix this? Jooojay (talk) 06:56, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
