- 1911 – The first Milwaukee Road Olympian passenger train (1925 train pictured) arrives in Deer Lodge, Montana.
- 1946 – After a short strike earlier in the month, Hudson and Manhattan Railroad trainmen go on strike again when the Pennsylvania Railroad (which owned the H&M at this time) management decides that the recent PRR pay increase does not apply to H&M employees.
- 1953 – The Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Railway runs its last passenger trains.
- 2005 – Iraqi State Television reports that a new railroad connection between Iran and Iraq will be built. The railroad is planned to connect Khorramshahr, Iran, to Basra, Iraq, and another connection is planned for a route between Kermanshah, Iran, and the Iraqi province of Diala.
