I'd like to welcome you to Wikipedia myself, and I suggest adding yourself to the lists of Greek Wikipedians and Multilingual Wikipedians. Keep in touch. Etz Haim 19:52, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)
I ve just added myself. Thanks for the help with my articles. I 'm a bit confused about the greek wikipedians page. Is that a list of greek nationals which has been "hijacked" (hehehe) by ethnic greeks?
Mavros 20:06, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Thanks for the change, man :)
[edit]in case you are greek, you can add yourself in the list of Greek Wikipedians :)
No probs. Can I answer in greek(lish) in my talk page or is it considered bad manners?Mavros 15:42, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Dhekelia CIA map
[edit]Looke like you are correct. I checked the main CIA Factbook map of Cyrpus and Dhekelia SBA/Eastern SBA borders the TRNC. If I were you, i'd contact the CIA here. They are very helpful with corrections. - Hoshie 01:09, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)
I'm not a US citizen and I don't collaborate with foreign agencies :). The point was to get an accurate map for wikipedia, not an accurate map for the CIA Mavros
- The CIA has released an update to the Dhekelia map. I have since uploaded it. - Hoshie 05:38, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Patrida, I'm rallying up support for Alexandros Papadiamantis in Wikipedia:Literature Collaboration of the Week. So, go vote! :D

List of Greek films
[edit]Hello! I've collated a list of Greek films, fulfilling a year-old request, using the Web to gauge critical acclaim and popularity. However, I'm not Greek, and don't speak Greek. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could take a look at the list, and improve it if necessary. -- The Anome 10:40, Mar 2, 2005 (UTC)
Need Help
[edit]The article vanavsos is up for deletion. Can you please help in this regard. Second, I am having difficulty with Wikinfo:Classical definition of republic and am having trouble on Talk:Republic because they won't allow an external link. It was deleted off of Wikipedia, and I believe it needs to come back on. A serious mistake in deleting this article. Thanks for your time.WHEELER 18:30, 8 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Hi! I'm trying to organize and categorize articles on trade unions and trade union federations in Wikipedia correctly. I see that you've contributed most of what's written on PEO. Could you please clarify: Is PEO a single trade union, or is it a federation of independent regional and/or sectoral/industry-based trade unions that have joined a common umbrella organisation? / Alarm 14:57, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Poll
[edit]There is a poll in the talk page of the article 'Macedonian Slavs' here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Macedonian_Slavs#The_poll
Some people are lobbying for changing the article's name to 'Macedonian' without any qualifier. As it seems, a number of these people come from the Macedonian/Macedonian Slav wikipedia project. It seemed only fair to attract the attention of people possibly from the other side of the story too . I hope that this message is of interest to you, if not please accept my apologies.
Wikipedians in Greece
[edit]Hi, I understand that you are either Greek Wikipedian or a Wikipedian living in/with an interest in Greece.
The category page Wikipedians/Greece has been replaced with Category:Wikipedians in Greece but your name still appears on the old list. You might considering moving it. You might also consider adding adding Template:Greekwiki to your user page.
A Wikipedia:Greek Wikipedians' notice board has been in existence for some time but is terribly underutilised. It would certainly benefit from your involvement.--Damac 12:23, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
National Guard
[edit]Mavros, I regret that I can't give you a source about the person who did not serve in the National Guard after arguing that it is unconstitutional; he is someone I met by chance who told me his story a couple of years ago. --Occamy 22:48, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
Makhairas

Ploutis Servas
Question
[edit]Hi Mavros,
I have a question regarding a "fellow" Cypriot; KRBN. What's his beef about Greek Cypriot being put in Cyprus articles where the biography of the person IS Greek Cypriot? What's his issue? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:KRBN
Thanks in advance.
- I don't understand why you are asking me. Try and resolve issues in KRBN's talk page or the articles' talk page.Mavros 23:58, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Psycharis
[edit]According to the Dutch article (which seems superior in content to the English at this point), Psycharis's family was originally from Chios and he was buried there when he died. They must have been merchants - maybe they fled the Turkish massacre there, or maybe they just did business in Odessa. I recall a source saying he was Pontic Greek - did he grow up speaking the Pontic dialect, or some Greek merchant's patois?. Do you have any Greek sources on him that might answer some of these questions? --Jpbrenna 23:38, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Unblock request
[edit]Not sure why you placed the tag, your username isn't blocked and in the absence of the rest of the details of the block message you got I have nothing to go on. --pgk(talk) 15:00, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Greek and Cypriot media coverage
[edit]Hello Mavros,
I am writing a thesis on Croatia's candidacy to join the EU as seen by the various European media. As I see that you are a native Greek speaker interested in the issues related to Cyprus I was wondering if you would consider helping me. Needless to say, I don't speak Greek. However, I think it would be a shame if my thesis were to reflect only the views and topics covered in the countries such as Austria, Britain, France, Germany, the Netherlands etc (in short, the countries whose languages I understand). Therefore, I would like to include a section on Greek and Cypriot media in my thesis. I am not only interested in Croatia's candidacy, but also in the wider subjects people associate with the EU. I left a more detailed list on my discussion page.
I will be more than grateful if you could leave me just a link to a Greek or Cypriot newspaper article that deals with any of the above subjects with a short summary such as for example: "XY is opposed to Turkey's membership because of the unresolved Cyprus issue" or "the membership of Croatia is bad because the constitutional treaty has been rejected in France and the Netherlands" or "party X is critical to Greece's membership in the eurozone because of..."
I will be sending this message to several other native Greek speakers. Also if you know a Wikipedian who could help me, please let me know. Of course, if you're not interested, please accept my apologies and feel free to erase the message. Thank you for your time. PGradStudent 11:10, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
