Question about Betty Ross

In the Pilot was the woman in the car with Banner (she died in the car wreak, taking place in the opening scene) was that Betty Ross? since i do not remember her in the show and she is a major person in the comic books, being the Hulk's girlfriend/wife 156.33.195.254 (talk) 17:14, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The woman was Banner's wife. There was no character named "Betty Ross" in the TV series, though. See the top of the "Premise" section for more. -Fnlayson (talk) 17:36, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Casting

For the role of Dr. David Banner, Kenneth Johnson cast seasoned television actor Bill Bixby—his first choice for the role. At first, Bixby resisted accepting the part, but after reading the script, he quickly signed on. Next, character actor Jack Colvin was cast as "Jack McGee," the series' recurring antagonist. Modeled after the character of Javert in Les Misérables, McGee was a cynical tabloid newspaper reporter who relentlessly pursued the Hulk after witnessing the urban legend.

Well, I had to go way back to find it, but I found the interview where Johnson mentions that Bixby was his first choice. I couldn't find where Bill "resisted accepting the part," only that when he read the script, he liked the down-to-earth realism. The Incredible Hulk was the beginning series of the highly-rated Friday-night block on CBS, where it was followed by The Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas. The series lineup began as such in 1979 and remained that way until 1981, when the Hulk moved to a new night during the abbreviated fifth and final season.

The series has aired as reruns on the Sci-Fi Channel and on RTV.

In Malaysia, repeats of the show air on Monday nights at 11.45pm on 8TV.

In the United Kingdom, the series was shown by ITV, starting in early 1978 and continuing until 1983. Some stations repeated the series in the late 1980s. The series was shown by Channel 5 in the late 1990s.

Emphasis on McGee

Seems odd that the "Story Arc" section spends twice as much prose talking about McGee than it does talking about Banner/The Hulk. 76.169.117.161 (talk) 08:39, 28 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

After the series ended, the fate of David Banner was unknown.

I disagree. The Hulk/David Banner clearly died after his deep fall. The closing scene was reminiscent of the end of "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde", where also the dying or already dead creature gradually changed back into its normal human shape.--2003:CE:BBC9:D5AC:64E0:4651:5F68:638B (talk) 17:53, 19 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
