Hi Eric, Thanks for your note on my talk page (but for future reference, put all contributions at the bottom off a page). I do not know much about "Zion" as a metaphor in African American culture, except that it is real and important, so I certainly would not have any objections at all to a well-researched article on "Zion" as a metaphor. But this really is quite different from Zionism as a metaphor! Also, I still think it would be better as a subsection under some larger topic -- maybe on Cultures of the African Diaspora? I know of one good book on Zion as a metaphor within Africa -- Jean Comaroff's Body of Power, Spirit of Resistance which you may wish to read, although I don't know the book well enough to sum it up in any article. I am sure there is a lot of research on Zion as a metaphor in African diaspora religious and nationalist movements. Good luck doing research! In short, I don't think I could add much to an article, but as long as it is based on research and has the right title, I fully support your work, Slrubenstein
American Academy of Financial Management
[edit]Need help from an editor who understands finance or governmental sector. 2 Editors continue to remove the primary governmental references from this article American Academy of Financial Management
Can you help somehow to make sure that the government links and regulatory references and citations remain in the article to improve the AAFM Article. Nobody wants to whitewash the article, but rather include government links, the top US Business accreditation agencies such as AACSB and ACBSP, and FINRA and US Government referneces to AAFM. Most of the information that is included in todays article was approved by the two editors last year. Not sure why these editors now think the references and facts should be deleted at this time? Please help get this article right. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.17.102.39 (talk) 17:47, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
HDV in Final Cut Pro
[edit]For your information, page forty-two of the December, 2004 issue of Videomaker says Final Cut Pro can edit in DVCPro HD, HD, and SD, but not HDV. Information you contributed to "HDV" says Final Cut can, in fact, edit in HDV. Either your information or Videomaker's must be incorrect. Any ideas? —Vespristiano 00:21, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Article Licensing
[edit]Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
Hi, re the edit on Richard Boyle, there is no key on my comuter for the numbering thing, so thats why th earl of orrerry was misnumbered, but now htere is no link on the Earl of Cork page to the main article on Orrerry, who was by far Boyles most important son. I'm not going to go reverting it but it should be changed - properly numbered etc Jdorney
Richard Boyle's death
[edit]Hi, In answer to your question about his death, I understand that that he died of disease in the town of Youghal in co Cork in 1643. The 1641 rebellion saw a lot of killings and looting of British protestants by native Irish catholics, and the settlers mostly fled to the walled towns for their own protection. Boyle put up the money for the local British forces to defend thier community and also financed the English army sent to Ireland in 1642 - this is probably why Cromwell said that if there had been mre like him there would have been no rebellion. As a result,a lot of his fortune was actually spent by the time the wars in Ireland finally finished in 1653. At the time of his death in 1643, there were only a handful of towns on the south coast of Ireland in Enlgish hands and they were surrounded by countryside controlled by the Irish Confederates, so supplies would have been low and conditions cramped. Thousands of English soldiers died at this time in Ireland from diseases like typhoid and dysentrerry that come from drinking bad water, and its likely that a disease like this killed Boyle. Hope this answer's the question, Jdorney
Notability of Friendfeed
[edit]A tag has been placed on Friendfeed requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb-Me•MyEars•MyMouth-timed 14:26, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. --smurdah (talk) 03:34, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Z-80 Softcard
[edit]I had to significantly trim out a lot of commentary from the article that you created Z-80 Softcard. Please remember that Wikipedia has a strict policy of neutral point of view and that all articles must be written with a neutral, disinterested, encyclopedic tone. The way that article was written, it very much involved personal commentary and opinions and had a more casual, colloquial tone. If you feel you can add back the information I removed and have it adhere to these guidelines, then feel free to do so, but ONLY if it can adhere to those rules. Thank you very much. --Hnsampat (talk) 02:52, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Ericross! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 254 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the list:
- Narada Michael Walden - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Boo Howard - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Speedy deletion nomination of Boo Howard
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Boo Howard requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hang on
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. かんぱい! Scapler (talk) 19:29, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article Clinomorphism has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 09:57, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
