Suggestions for Improvement
[edit]To improve this article, it may be worthwhile to include the historical circumstances for the formation of the PUK and the events that surround them. It will also be of benefit to mention in detail the events regarding the in-fighting between the PDK and PUK after the formation of the de-facto Kurdish state in northern Iraq.
Lack of NPOV
[edit]You describe the positive attributes of the PUK before you give an objective account of who they are. The PUK fought a long war against Barzani's Kurdish group, one in which civilian lives were lost. They also fought the Iraqi Northern brigade in the ninety-six uprising.
i have clarified the last paragraphs of this page, as the PUK KDP was discussed twice.
Armed?
[edit]Has the PUK conducted armed activity? Guerrilla? Terrorism? --Error 23:57, 13 July 2005 (UTC)
+--Yes it fought the iraqi government, no modern day terrorism( suicide bombs etc. or civillian attack) +--The PUK was a political group with armed forces that fought against the repressive Iraqi regime and sought for self-governance in the Kurdish territories of northern Iraq.

About PUK's early years
[edit]PUK founded as a semi-front of Kurdish socialist groups in '70's and only officially called itself as social-democratic in 1992 Congress. Before that, as stated in it's founding announcement, PUK was a socialist group and supported "socialist" countries like Yemeni PDR against Iraqi Ba'ath (in '70's Saddam tried to overthrow Yemeni PDR and install a pro-Iraqi Ba'ath government). I have sources for it, but they all in Turkish. Should I make this changes with Turkish sources?
