Geyser?
[edit]I've removed the following passage from the article. I've read through the references given (and the external links) and I can't see anything that confirms this. Some talk about "geyser-like" eruptions, but there's nothing about a geyser jet 4 miles high, for instance. If you want to add any of it back, please give a specific inline citation.
Some consider the Poas Volcano to be a cross between a geyser and a volcano, and scientists believe that it is a volcano gradually becoming a geyser. Therefore, The Poas Volcano is believed to be the biggest geyser crater in the world. On one occasion, it spewed a jet of steam four miles high, claiming the record for the highest geyser jet.

- Any claim that the volcano ever shot a geyser four miles high would need a reliable citation to support it. Remarkable claims require very solid evidence. I have never heard of Poás performing like this. It is important also to distinguish between a cloud of steam and a geyser. Power station chimneys sometimes emit steam clouds to high altitudes, but they are not geysers. — O'Dea (talk) 19:22, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Very beautiful, please add it. --Avargasm (talk) 04:49, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
2011 activity change
[edit][1] is reporting (that since mid july) there has been incandecent activity - the first here since 1981
And regarding the earlier question about 'geyser like behaviour' the link says Poás eruptions often include it, no mention of the record though.
lots more information here on both questions EdwardLane (talk) 16:41, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
