- I take it you mean, "I represent the subject of the article, and he would like it to be deleted." I'm not sure if that's a valid reason for deletion,

It wouldn't be a valid deletion reason for a truly famous subject, but I figure that for a truly borderline (at best, see below) case like this one, we should probably take their advice.
