[edit]I think this should be merged with O-Acetylpsilocin. I have placed the merger suggestion on the top of the page. Anirak1337 07:03, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- This is a mistake, and I will correct it. The original states "known as ethacetin, ethylacybin or 4-AcO-DMT is a hallucinogenic tryptamine.", which is incorrect. It should be 4-AcO-DET. --Astavats 22:14, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
it is NOT known as ethylacybin, that would be 4-po-det. i have edited it. also the drawing is technically correct but it does not follow the conventional pattern that the carbon chains are drawn, see DET, and 4-ho-det to get an idea of how it should look. i guess it doesnt really matter though.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.193.45.199 (talk) 20:30, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- Incorrect, 4-PO-DET would be ethocybin, and 4-AcO-DET is ethylacybin (Ref. #1) or following the more common standard nomenclature "ethacetin" (Ref. #2).--Astavats (talk) 08:23, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Title change
[edit]Most importantly, the previous title, 4-Acetoxy-DET does not follow Wikipedia's Concision guidelines (it is longer than necessary "to identify the topic to a person familiar with the general subject area".
In addition, it does not follow the following guidelines from the top five article title guidelines:
- Recognizability: those who are not experts in the field may recognize 4-AcO-DET but not 4-Acetoxy-DET
- Naturalness: people will search for 4-AcO-DET, not 4-Acetoxy-DET
- Consistency: by and large articles for acetylated tryptamines (4-AcO-DMT, 4-AcO-DPT, etc.) use "AcO", not "Acetoxy"
I will be going through the Cleaning up after a move checklist in the coming days. Thanks! Repylom (talk) 22:18, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
